Don Bosco Prep (N.J.) senior guard Dylan Harper, son of former five-time NBA champion Ron Harper, is set to announce his college decision on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. ET. The 6-foot-5, 180-pound five-star, ranked No. 2 overall in the 247Sports 2024 Composite, had previously narrowed down his choices to Duke, Kansas, Rutgers, Auburn, and Indiana.
While Duke was initially considered the favorite to land Harper, the momentum has shifted towards Rutgers in recent months. His brother, Ron Harper Jr., played four seasons for the Scarlet Knights and is now in the NBA. Additionally, Harper's close friend, McEachern High School (Ga.) five-star forward Ace Bailey, who is ranked No. 3 overall in the 2024 class, has already signed with Rutgers.
All five 247Sports Crystal Ball predictions currently point to Harper following in his older brother's footsteps and joining Bailey at Rutgers.
Regardless of Harper's decision, Duke will still have the nation's top-ranked 2024 recruiting class. The Blue Devils' early signing period haul includes the cycle's No. 1 prep, Montverde Academy (Fla.) forward Cooper Flagg, and three other five-star talents, plus one four-star.
